Portishead LeRoc

Dances and Other Events

We hold dances regularly throughout the year which draw together dancers from across the South West.

The dances are held in the Somerset Hall in Portishead and are a great night out, no matter how long you have been dancing.

Our next dance is on the 13th September 2008, more details will be posted on this site closer to the time.

8.00pm - 8.45pm Beginners' class - this is a great way of 'breaking the ice' if you have never been to a dance before, or of warming up if you are a regular dancer.
8.45pm - 11.30pm Dance the night away!
All profits from dances this year are being donated to the Children's Hospice South West.

SOMERSET HALL

There is a bar and comfortable seating area outside the main hall if you want to sit and have a chat, or if you have non-dancing friends who want to come along for the evening.

  • From the M5 Junction 19, take the exit to Portishead
  • Go straight over the first roundabout
  • Turn left at the second roundabout onto Wyndham Way (this has a large metal sculpture in the middle)
  • Turn left at the traffic lights, and find somewhere to park on the right
  • The Somerset Hall is in the Portishead precinct, walk through the gap between the hairdressers and the wall, you should now be in the precinct
  • The entrance to the hall is to the left of the travel agents, and the dance will be upstairs

Other Events

We attend dances in other places across the South West, and encourage you to join us! We realise that it can feel a bit daunting to go to a dance on your own, particularly if you are a new dancer, so we let members of our classes know which dances we are going to - that way you can be sure to see a friendly face when you arrive and have someone to sit (and dance) with!
